Der Rohrstock war sicher bis vor vierzig, fünzig Jahren in Deutschland das übliche Instrument um ungezogenen Gören Manieren beizubringen. Das war in den Zeiten, in denen eine Tracht Prügel zu den alltäglichen Ereignissen zu Hause und in der Schule gehörte.
Mit den 68ern und dem Aufkommen der antiautoritären Erziehung änderte sich dies. Der Rohrstock kam aus er Mode. Aber es gab immer noch ungezogene Mädchen und immer noch war es nötig ihnen den Hintern zu versohlen. Normale Haushaltsgegenstände waren schnell zur Hand: der Riemen, der Kleiderbügel, der Teppichklopfer, der Kochlöffel.
Diese Instrumente werden unter Spankingfreunden, vor allem von denen, die mehr theoretisch mit der Sache beschäftigt sind, belächelt. Wer aber jemals z.B. den Kochlöffel ausgiebig auf seinem nackten Hintern gespürt hat, der weiß, dass dies nicht zum Lachen war.
Der Schmerz ist auf eine kleine Fläche konzentriert und wirkt lange nach. "Du kriegst den Arsch voll bis du nicht mehr sitzen kannst" - diese Drohung lässt sich mit ein, zwei Dutzend saftigen Rohrstockhieben sicher verwirklichen. Aber ein ordentiches Hinternvoll mit dem Kochlöffel ist sicher genauso eindrucksvoll und macht aus einem ungezogenen Früchtchen in wenigen Minuten ein heulendes Fräulein, dass von ganzem Herzen Besserung verspricht.
In der spankingszene sind solche häusliche Instrumente eher selten im Einsatz zu finden.

I thought Rohrstock meant the cane? Are you saying the English version is different to the one used in Germany?
The Rohrstock is shorter and the cane is more flexible.
Here's a Quick and Dirty Translation until you get chance to do it properly.
Until 40 or 50 years ago the Straight or Manila Cane, certainly was the usual instrument for teaching brats some manners.
Back in the times when a spanking was an everyday part of home or school life.

Personally , the carpet beater and the wooden spoon are the instruments I respect the most! The straight cane
is painful and I've never felt an English cane.I don't like the American paddle.

Thanks but infact the translation was so quick and dirty I missed almost a whole sentence!
"The Spanking Scene are seldom seen ," should have read "In the Spanking Scene such implements are seldom seen/deployed" or similar.
That's what happens when you translate while doing three other things at the same time. So I can't multi-task. I'm male, sue me :P
And yeah I can remember getting the wooden spoon (or the 'wooden whacker as my Mum called it)as a kid.
